Rye Prep School's Advent Morning

Prep School Christmas

Christmas at Rye Prep School

One of the many highlights of this time of year is our Advent Morning, where pupils spend the morning with their form teachers making Advent crafts to be displayed during Prep School Advent Mass in the Chapel. The Mass was led by Dr Sean Willis, Lay Chaplain, and he reminded us that, in the midst of the excitement, it is easy to lose sight of the real meaning of Christmas - the coming of light into the world at Jesus’ birth. The children and staff were set an Advent challenge; to find a few moments every day of quiet, away from the bustle and noise of busy preparations, in which to think and pray for someone close to us. The morning concludes with the whole Prep School gathered around the Christmas tree to sing Christmas carols.
